I went to see my ex-apartment-manager. She didn't charge as much for finishing the cleaning as I was scared she would.

Since she whined about the carpet having stains on it and if they carpet cleaning guy couldn't get it out, how she was going to have to charge me for a new carpet. ... I remembered from a year and a half ago how the manager before her said that to re-carpet a unit, it costs $1800. I was scared.

Apparently the stains came out, 'cause I wasn't charged for a new carpet. Also, the cleaners gave me a price break and didn't charge me for the products they used, so instead of being charged $17.50/hr, they charged $15/hr.

So, after the $225 DD that I let them keep, I owe $37. Not as bad as I had thought. Though I do think it is unfair that they expected me to leave the place EXACTLY as it was when I moved in... I mean, they shouldn't expect you to be able to clean it as good as a professional can, and when you can't I don't think that the tenant should foot all of the bill (especially when they really only had final touches to clean). At least I never have to go back there. :3


Now maybe I can get my sister to lend me her wireless card for her desktop (since she has it plugged right into the router) and I can get my desktop (art computer) up and running downstairs... and maybe I will actually draw a picture.


... If I remember how.
